How to check internet speed in Almaty and Kazakhstan
FreeWay’s speed test measures the path to our Almaty server. It’s useful for “how fast can I reach FreeWay from Kazakhstan,” not a global CDN benchmark.
Step by step
-
Pause heavy downloads
Stop torrents, updates, and streaming on other devices.
-
Press GO
Wait for ping, download, and upload. Check jitter too — it matters for calls.
-
Compare Wi‑Fi and cable
If numbers look weak, retry over Ethernet or closer to the router.
Why results differ from other speed tests
Different services measure paths to different endpoints. FreeWay reports speed to our Almaty host.
Wi‑Fi, neighbor load, and ISP routing all affect the score.
Things to watch
- For games and calls, watch ping/jitter — not only peak Mbps.
- Also check your IP and site ping when debugging.
- FreeWay UI is available in Russian and Kazakh.
